My favourite cookie banner to-date

The advertising standards authority (ASA) has to have the the worst implementation of an implied consent mechanism I have seen (to date).

In case you cannot read the words, here’s what it says in the headline banner ..

We are using cookies on our site to provide you with the best user experience. Disabling cookies may prevent our website from working efficiently. Click ok to remove this message (we will remember your choice).

Is it just me or are you also struggling to see what ‘choice’ one makes by removing the message?

Love to run this one by the Dutch regulators :-)

  1. The title and content are polar opposites (favourite/worst) which renders this post useless when looking for good implementations of cookie banners.
Very misleading from search engine listing…

    • Hi Craig – sorry to mislead you, clearly not our intention! We all just got a little cynical with some implementations. Having spent an awful lot of time and energy trying to understand the legislation and find meaningful solutions, some of our ‘favourite’ solutions are the ones that leave us aghast when you attempt to compare the original purpose and motivation for the legal changes with what has actually been achieved by some solutions..
