Duncan Smith, MSc., MNADPO, CIPP/E - Head of iCompli
Founded and led by Duncan Smith, iCompli continues to be the trusted source of expertise on data protection and related compliance issues, and how these relate to future technologies. Duncan is an accomplished consultant, with over 20 years experience and can provide guidance on privacy and data protection, financial services compliance, marketing law and future business technologies.
Duncan is an excellent and engaging presenter, who can distill complex information into understandable and relevant content. His experience extends to keynote speaking at meetings, conferences and other fora, both face to face and online. He has lectured for the Masters programs at the Kent and Manchester Business Schools, has engaged in government and industry consultations and remains at the forefront of data protection issues in the UK and abroad.
Simon Howarth, MSc, MBCS, CITP, CIPP/E - Data Protection Specialist
A highly skilled and effective information privacy consultant, Simon has been involved in providing data protection advice and guidance for over eighteen years. With a Master of Science in Health Information Governance, Chartered membership of the British Computer Society and membership of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Simon takes his work very seriously delivering high value, quality guidance that enables business to get the best from their data protection obligations. Simon is also a skilled data protection officer with experience in companies with international offices.
A regular speaker at events, his engaging style ensures that a subject considered quite dry is both relevant and entertaining. With an in-depth knowledge of UK data protection legislation and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Simon is keen to educate business and dispel the myths that cloud this important area.
Suzanne Pleydell, MSc - Commercial Director
With over 20 years in corporate training and education, and risk management, Suzanne strengthens iCompli's training portfolio. Specialised in Train the Trainer programs, Suzanne ensures trainers develop into effective and confident communicators of technical information in a fun and engaging way. Her training ensures staff can create and deliver effective, relevant and concise presentations as much for meetings as staff training sessions. Suzanne also leads on new business development for iCompli.
Caroline Joy Watson - Solutions Architect
With a background in technical project management and auction software, Caroline is our go to person for GDPR implementation and compliance management, from impact assessments, records of processing to policies and procedures, she can make it happen. An experienced trainer and privacy expert, with proven capabilities of training internal teams to deliver data protection compliance.
Laura Paterson - Data Compliance Specialist
With a background in data management, data compliance and direct marketing, Laura has over 15 years ecperience in industry. She specialises in finding, nurturing and renewing customers through recurring payment initiatives and customer enegement programs, recognising that the customer is at the heart of any business. She can help build data strategies to better understand the data flow within a company, optimise data development and utilisation and improve customer journeys, using a mix of marketing, governance and compliance for future success. Through a direct marketing framework, she can support companies to understand their data, their customers and the touchpoints that can be used to build loyalty and enhance ROIs.
